Who this service is for

Valryis operates Valryis for people aged 18 and over in the United States. Contact privacy@valryis.com about personal information, including records relating to someone without an account.

Information used by the service

We store the details you provide when creating and using your account: your email address, a password hash, age and location details, profile, issue answers, saved matches, messages, forecasts and training activity. The service uses your profile and issue answers to calculate civic matches and recommendations. Those answers and inferences can reveal political opinions.

Public candidate, election, organisation and contributor records may appear where the relevant data features are available. These can include names, locations, affiliations and contribution details. Public records may be incomplete or incorrect; being listed does not mean someone has an account or has confirmed ownership of that record.

Security and operational records help protect accounts, investigate abuse and diagnose failures. Optional interaction measurement, including views and clicks, is controlled separately by your analytics preference.

Your choices and visibility

Optional analytics and marketing are off until you choose to allow them. You can change or withdraw those preferences at any time. When signed in, your choices are also stored with your account. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection; it does not itself delete earlier activity.

Member discovery is off by default. If you enable it in settings, signed-in members can see your name, civic role, state, country, party affiliation, issue positions and shared candidate matches. You can switch it off at any time. Posts and other activity you choose to share remain visible to their audience. Messages are available to their recipients. Keep sensitive information out of public fields and messages unless you intend to share it. Core account functions and actions you request continue to work with optional processing switched off.

News personalisation

News personalisation is off by default. If you switch it on in account settings, we send your issue names, chosen positions and importance to OpenAI to calculate a news profile. We exclude your name, email and address. You can separately include topic interests from saved candidates and forecast participation over the past 30 days, starting when you enable that choice. This activity does not establish your political position or endorsement of a candidate.

Settings show the answers and activity topics used. You can clear activity interests or switch personalisation off. Switching it off removes the stored news profile and stops future requests for this purpose. A request already sent cannot be recalled. Core candidate matching remains available.

Election district lookup

If you use the address lookup on My races, we send the address you enter to the U.S. Census Bureau to identify election districts. We save only the state, districts, boundary version and confirmation date you choose to keep. We do not save the address or coordinates. You can enter districts manually instead, or clear saved districts at any time.

Service providers and advertising

The service uses Vercel for hosting and Neon for database storage. Providers used to deliver email, generate recommendations or analyse content receive the information needed for those functions. Account data may be processed in the locations where those providers operate.

Advertising and sponsored placements are disabled for the initial free release. If separately introduced, they require your marketing choice before loading or measurement. Political views, issue answers, civic roles and profile location are excluded from advertising targeting. A hashed account identifier may be used for sponsored-placement frequency limits and measurement; hashing does not make it anonymous.

Access, correction and deletion

Account settings provide a data download and account deletion controls. Imported donor and contact source records are included in a download only after an approved ownership claim for that account and record. Unverified legacy links and claim requests remain in the account inventory; a historical name or email match is not proof of ownership. You can also request access, correction or deletion by emailing privacy@valryis.com. We may ask for proportionate evidence of identity before releasing information or changing a record. Knowledge of public-record details alone is not proof of ownership.

Account information remains stored while needed to provide the service or handle a request. Deletion removes your account, messages, private plans, training activity and owned events. Published forecast questions and independent public civic records remain with account ownership removed. Minimal billing delivery records remain without their account link or provider payload. Backups may retain earlier copies until they expire. Contact us for information about a particular record and its retention.

Cookies and changes

Essential cookies support sign-in, security, language and your preference choices. The preference cookie lasts up to six months. Browser storage holds unfinished onboarding answers for up to 24 hours, linked to the signed-in account, country and onboarding role. Completing onboarding removes that draft. Optional processing is controlled on the cookie preferences page.

We will update this page when the service changes. Material changes to optional processing require a new choice before that processing starts.
